LICAF 2022 will be located in beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere
To put the ‘Lake’ into the Lakes Festival we are moving to Bowness-on-Windermere in the heart of the Lake District National Park and are excited to be able to host our exhibitors in a beautiful lakeside location.
We’ll be re-inventing the marketplace in our tenth year and we hope you will feel enthused and inspired to join us.
It will be a new kind of LICAF maintaining the special qualities of our festival but with some new ideas and adventures to keep everyone on their toes!
So here are the facts:
>> 1. For our first year in a new location we are offering a special discounted table price to acknowledge the change and encourage you to travel with us. The cost of a full table in the 2022 Lakeview Comics Marketplace will be £60 (if you wish to share a table you must apply with (an)other creator(s).
>> 2. The location of the marketplace is in the top 2 floors of a lakeside Bar and Restaurant with spectacular views of the Lake and mountains. It’s spacious and welcoming with opportunity for visitors to sit, chat and read their recently purchased comics in a convivial atmosphere. The venue is easily accessible for loading and unloading with a lift to each floor. The owner and his team could not be more excited to greet us and will do all they can to make the transition smooth and stress-free.
>> 3. As an extra “care” package we are offering each successful applicant 2 x £10 vouchers to be used at the venue for food and/or drink during the festival weekend. For those who have attended before this will replace our famous Red Brigade ‘brew and biscuit’ service, but the level of care will be at least as good.
>> 4. We’ll be providing a shuttle bus around the footprint of the festival to make it easy to get around.
We know that some exhibitors may prefer to stay in Kendal where they are more familiar with the accommodation options. Kendal is only 9 miles away from Bowness. There are affordable options in Bowness too, and we recommend checking out the links on the ‘Visit’ page on our website.
If you're planning to stay in Kendal:
For those exhibitors who will be staying in Kendal we are providing a free shuttle bus between Kendal and Bowness on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.
We’ll be sharing the timetable later in the year, however please rest assured that the buses will get you to the exhibitor area in time for each day’s trading and the various return options in the evening will allow you to choose to stay and socialise in Bowness or head back for a rest – whatever you prefer!
If you would like to join us at this year’s festival, please complete the application form below and return to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrive no later than Friday 25 February 2022, 5pm.
We are sorry that we won’t be able to accommodate all applicants, but we will keep you well informed throughout the process and let you know no later than Friday 4 March 2022.
