In previous years, this trail has drawn thousands of viewers and showcased the talents of professional artists, as well as works by students, schools, and community groups.

This year, the trail brings an exciting addition... Introducing From Ink to Action!

In partnership with the British Council, LICAF proudly presents From Ink to Action, a project featuring 12 exceptionally talented artists from the MENA region.

From Ink to Action

Commissioned specifically for this initiative, these artists employ the compelling medium of comic art, bringing a unique perspective, to address the global challenges of climate change with a focus on local urgent environmental issues. Viewers are invited to see these pressing issues through fresh and thought-provoking lenses.

Strategically placed throughout windows of the village, the modules of the installation, thoughtfully crafted by Rabih Koussa and Nabil Farhat, aim to spark discussions and encourage reflection on the concepts of individual and collective advocacy and action in the face of environmental challenges.

The journey of From Ink to Action doesn’t end here!

After its debut in Bowness-on-Windermere during the Lakes International Comic Art Festival 2023, the exhibition’s next stop is COP28 in Dubai, where it will continue to inspire and engage audiences on a global scale.

Tizzie-Whizie Treasure Trail

This year you can also join our family treasure hunt searching for ten Tizzie-Whizie letters of the alphabet hidden in the festival Windows Trail around Bowness-on-Windermere.

Find all ten and you win a free copy of the amazing Carrot to the Stars comic. One completed entry form will also win a bumper pack of comic related goodies, drawn from the hat at the end of the festival!

Collect your entry form from the Festival Information Centre on The Glebe or from Little LICAF at the Windermere Jetty Museum and good luck!
