Luke Healy

Luke is the author of a Guardian best book for 2019 and 2022, and more

Luke Healy was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, where he also received a BA in Journalism. He has been a full time author and illustrator since 2014, when he graduated from The Center for Cartoon Studies, a cartooning school in rural Vermont, in the United States. He also works as a colourist and colour flatter, and has contributed work to more than a dozen books.

He is the author of four graphic novels, and dozens of short stories, and his books have been translated into five languages, and have been named best of their years by publications like The Guardian, Publishers Weekly, The Washington Post, The Irish Examiner and more.

The Con Artists and Americana, were both named Guardian Books of the Year. His latest graphic novel, Self-Esteem and the End of the World, will be released by Faber & faber in May 2024.
