Philippine International Comics Festival returns in September, online and free

We're delighted to be supporting the Philippine International Comics Festival again this year. Karrie Fransman, whose work comics strips and graphic stories have been published in titles such as The Guardian, The Times, Time Out, The Telegraph, and New Statesman, is giving a seminar/workshop as part of this online gathering of comic creators and fans.

Now in its fourth year, the Philippine International Comics Festival will be featuring more creators, festivals, scholars, and experts to discuss more things to love about comics! 

Happening 1st - 3rd September and 8th - 10th, Fridays to Sundays, at 10.00am, 1.00pm, and 5.00pm via Zoom, registration is free via this link

Other creators involved this year include Bambi Eloriaga-Amago, Och Gonzalez, RH Quilantang, Divine Gil-Reyes, Bambi A. Rodriguez, Duy Tano,  Randy Valiente (from the Philippines); Paul Gravett and Jonathan Scott (from the UK); Gene Ha, Jimmy Palmiotti and Geoff Thorne (from the United States); Campbell Whyte (Australia); Belinda Billen and Eva "Ephameron" Cardon (from Belgium); Kifurai (Indonesia); Adam Pasion (Japan); Ryu Jung Hye and Kim Yangsu (Korea); Nadhir Nor (Malaysia); and Shreya Davies, CT Lim and Wayne Rée (Singapore)

The Festival will close with PICOF2023 Festival Closing and PICOF2024 Announcements! from Festival Director Paolo Herras and the Indie Komiks Podcast.

The Philippine International Comics Festival (PICOF2023) is organised by Komiket and supported by the Department of Information and Communications Technology - DICT, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, The Comics Cube, Tahanan Books, Kahel Press, Difference Engine, Lakes International Comic Art Festival, Belgian Comic Strip Center, Perth Comic Arts Festival, Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, and Grafixx.
