Are we in the midst of a new British comics invasion?

Saturday 28 September
10.00am – 11.00am

LICAF may be an international festival, but we certainly don’t skimp on spotlighting UK talent. And, right now, British comics are riding a wave of incredible creativity. Meet three of the hottest talents currently creating graphic magic. Each has a powerful, distinctive and unique voice, each has a brand-new book coming out this year – and not one has ever drawn a super-hero.

Isabel Greenberg’s new book, Young Hag, ingeniously reinvents the women in Arthurian legend. Mollie Ray’s debut novel Giant is a devastating story of family tragedy rendered entirely in ballpoint. And Luke Healy’s painfully funny Self-Esteem and the End of the World turns the conventional graphic memoir on its head.

Are we in the middle of a new British invasion? Come and find out guided by your host John McShane.
