Katriona Chapman, Gustavo Vargas talk creating comics in new Podcast

The latest episode of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast features chats with the creator of Follow Me In, Katriona Chapman and comic creator Gustavo Vargas, creator of the independent dystopian SF thriller comic, Manu.

Katriona Chapman is the marketing manager for UK publisher Avery Hill Publishing and has been creating comics for many years, leading up to her first graphic novel Follow Me In in 2018 and whose new graphic novel, Breakwater, will be released this year.

Kat talks to hosts Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates about how she progressed to creating that book and the processes as well as her work with Avery Hill, and also takes part in a new segment "What’s the Last…?"

Pete Taylor chats to comics creator Gustavo (Gustaffo) Vargas, creator of this years number one comic Manu.

Plus, Mike Williams discusses Third World War by Pat Mills and Carlos Ezquerra, now being published as collections from Rebellion, and asks if it is still relevant today. Tom Stewart reviews The Junction by Norm Konyu.

Finally, Ian and Nikki also talk Ghibli in this episode. With the Studio Ghibli films coming onto Netflix, Nikki gives a brief run down of each of them, Ghibli itself and her Top Three.

There's also a run down of all the latest gusts for this year's Lakes International Comic Art Festival in Kendal in October, as well as the newly announced guests at this year's Macc Pow, which returns to Macclesfield for a fifth outing on Saturday 27th June 2020.
