Writers of comics are never shy about discussing their experiences of seeing their comics move from page to screen - and rarely shy about discussing anything for that matter! Of course, writers (for obvious reasons) are often involved in the script-writing process itself. However, the artist’s perspective is often overlooked, despite the fact that film/TV is a deeply visual medium.
Not so with Sean Phillips and his involvement with Amazon's forthcoming streaming adaptation of Sean and Ed Brubaker's Criminal. In this exclusive interview, Forbidden Planet TV's Andrew Sumner talks to Sean about the evolution of his award-winning career - and his wildly-successful twenty year creative partnership with Ed - before examining his observations, experiences & reactions to the evolution of Criminal as a TV project - and to the planned filming of his Eisner award-winning graphic novel Pulp (for which Sean is an executive producer).
