Each year we present artists from Europe who have grabbed our attention and who we want you to discover. This year is no exception, and we are excited to feature three artists: Karel Osoha, Nina Six and Reetta Niemensivu.
Karel is based in Prague, Czechia and studied animation before becoming a comic artist. He has won several awards for his distinctive illustration work.
Nina is a well-known and popular artist in Europe based in Belgium. Her narrative style is intimate, personal and based on childhood memories. She is currently working on a graphic adaptation of the English author, Stella Benson’s Living Alone.
Reetta is based in Lahti, Finland. She is the author of four published comics as well as self-publishing and illustrating many children’s books. Her comics draw on family history, memories and stories heard in her childhood. Find out more about that fascinating work in this session, hosted by Harriet Earle.
