As we count down to the Lakes International Comic Art Festival next month in Bowness-on-Windermere (14th – 16th October 2022), here’s another in a series of interviews with some of the guests – a quick chat with comic creator Jacob Phllips!

Jacob Phillips is a comic artist and colourist residing in tropical Manchester. He has been drawing his whole life, self-publishing his first comic ‘Roboy’ at the age of 11 and selling it at Brighton Comic Con.

Publisher Wired Productions, Writer/Director and comic creator Jörg Tittel and pioneering independent games studio Wolf & Wood have announced that first-person narrative adventure The Last Worker, featuring design work by 2000AD artist Mick McMahon, will come to PC first, launching on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG on 19th October 2022.

Re-Live charity unites military veterans and comic creators for new “Coming Home” anthology launch

Having established themselves firmly in the theatrical arts space, Welsh Arts in Health charity Re-Live are turning their attention to the world of comics as a fresh way to share stories of military veterans in a new anthology comic, entitled Coming Home, featuring a cover by the late Ian Kennedy – his last commissioned painting before he passed, earlier this year.

Getting a message across, in powerful visual form, is important to many of the comic creators at this year’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival, the organisation itself utilising the comics form with its international Ten Years to Save the World project (www.10yearstosavetheworld.com), supported by the British Council, in partnership with Komiket in the Philippines and Manchester-based Creative Concern.
