Alison Bechdel joins Lakes International Comic Art Festival line-up this October

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is delighted to announce that top American comic creator Alison Bechdel has joined its guest line-up for its annual gathering, taking place 14th - 16th October 2022 in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Alison Bechdel’s comic strip Dykes To Watch Out For became a countercultural institution among lesbians and discerning non-lesbians all over the planet. And her more recent, darkly humorous graphic memoirs about her family have forged an unlikely intimacy with an even wider range of readers.

Comic Art Europe announces “Living Together” Open Call 2022 winners

Comic Art Europe has just announced the winners of its 2022 Open Call, which challenged comic creators to come up with work based on the theme, “Living Together”.

Comic Art Europe features four of the leading European comics organisations, including the Lakes International Arts Festival, united by a single aim – to strengthen the comics sector in Europe, with the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

Dave Gibbons' Confabulation: An Anecdotal Autobiography will launch at Lakes Festival

Dark Horse Books has announced Dave Gibbons’ Confabulation: An Anecdotal Autobiography, compiled by Tim Pilcher.

The book will go on sale from 25th October 2022, but copies will be available ahead of that at this year’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival in Bowness-on-Windermere (14th – 16th October), with Dave and Tim in attendance.
