Virtual Comics Clock Tower Launches

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is delighted to announce the launch of its Virtual Comics Clock Tower ahead of LICAF LIVE, the virtual comics event taking place 9th – 11th October 2020 that replaces the usual Lakes International Comic Art Festival this year.

LICAF offers free digital comics on Tapas.io

The Lakes International Comic Art Festival has joined the Tapas.io digital comics community, publishing free online versions of some of its many projects created since it began in 2013.

Lockdown proves an inspiration for new Cumbrian art

The Coronavirus Pandemic lockdown has been devastating to many artists and small businesses, but at the same time, it has been a chance to slow down, reflect, and engage with a much smaller area around us.

For Cumbrian artists, it’s proven an opportunity to capture a unique moment in human history, reflected in the upcoming book, Dreaming through the Locking Glass, an artistic response to confined times.

Comics Festival part of new Creative Europe project

The Creative Europe Project, "Comics: A New Language for Europe", the European project initiated by France’s Lyon BD Festival, alongside Belgium’s Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée, Spain’s Escola de Comic Joso, Denmark’s Forlaget Fabel/ Arts Bubble and Britain’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival, has been selected for support by the European Commission.
