We are fortunate to have a number of guests this year, who have drawn or who are still drawing this iconic character. So,we have decided to celebrate this with a unique live draw finale.

Some artists like to retire to a lonely garret when they settle down to work. Not Dan Panosian. Several years ago, he created Drink and Draw, an informal gathering where artists, fans and friends can get together to scribble, shade and shoot the breeze. In this laid-back session, Dan will let his pencil do the talking, live-drawing while being interviewed about his stellar career by Forbidden Planet TV’s Andrew Sumner as they share a couple of drinks. Other artists may well pop in too. Why don’t you?

By huge demand, LICAF is proud to bring back to the festival its co-commission, premiered in 2016, Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash by Dave McKean. This multi-media performance combines visual storytelling, a captivating musical score and spoken word performance. It’s a visual journey through the mind and experiences of Paul Nash, explored through the exceptional comic artwork of Dave McKean – and is also an extraordinary comic story.

Join comic artist and Doctor Who TV series storyboard artist Mike Collins, Doctor Who Magazine editor Jason Quinn, and former Doctor Who Magazine editor John Freeman for a special session where they come up with a possible story featuring the winning monster of the Festival’s “Monster Challenge” for children, working with the audience to create a special comic strip tale to amaze DWM readers in 2025!

Nobody expects the Spanish Ink submission! But Bruno Redondo and Jorge Fornés are leaders in a new wave of Iberian artists who have literally redrawn the map of traditional comic-book characters. Bruno has won multiple Eisner awards for his unique and inspired takes on Batman, Suicide Squad and Nightwing. Jorge has brought his distinctive Noir-style vision to such characters as Spider-Man, Daredevil and even Rorschach, who first featured in Watchmen.
