New exhibition showcases the wonderful world of football comic art

‘Playing for a Draw’ is a new exhibition showcasing the history and creativity of football comics and illustration across the world. The exhibition at the National Football Museum, Manchester opens on July 5 and runs until September 2. From September the exhibition will go on tour as well as being part of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, October 12–14.

Zoom Rockman interviewed for our latest Podcast

Beano cartoonist and Lakes International Comic Art Festival patron Zoom Rockman is the guest of the organisation's podcast this week.

Zoom is a young creator who started producing comics from a young age, He appeared in the Beano at age 12 and in Private Eye at 16.

Lakes Festival to host "Art of Stranski" Exhibition

We're delighted to announce that we'll be hosting The Art of Stranski at this year's Lakes International Comic Art Festival, an exhibition of Lorenzo Etheringon's 1940s opus, Stranski.

Being a comic hero has traditionally been the dominion of the male. This is about to be challenged through a new exhibition called ‘Hero(ine)s’ featuring iconic comic heroes re-interpreted and reimagined in their female form.
