Mary Talbot, author of the prize-winning Dotter of her Father’s Eyes, and one of the founding patrons of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, is in Lancaster next month to give her Inaugural Lecture as Visiting Professor of Graphic Narrative at Lancaster University, discussing the art of graphic biography.

Three more comic creators have been added to the growing line up of announced guests for this year’s Lakes International Comic Art Festival in October, taking place this year for the first time in Bowness-on-Windermere.

Two top European comic artists, Eva Hilhorst and Judith Vanistendael, will be in the Lake District next month, heading up an innovative Lakes International Comic Art Festival partnership project to find out more about Kendal residents concerns about flooding and climate change.

Award-winning author Mary Talbot, a former Lancaster University student, patron and one of the founders of the popular Lakes International Comic Art Festival, has returned to Lancaster to take up a role focusing on the dynamics and benefits of comics storytelling.

The free Ten Years to Save the World exhibition has opened at MediaCity, Salford, running until 14th January 2022, a showcase of comic artwork and storytelling in response to the climate crisis by leading comic artists in the UK and the Philippines.
